The scheme of MDM in schools has become an extra burden for teachers and it effects the teaching process as one teacher always remain engaged with the maintenance of records, and management of MDM.

Teachers forum time and again requested the authorities to relieve the teachers from assignment of MDM, and give it to any NGO or panchayat. The ingredient charges and cocking charges are never released well in time, at present about Four months ingredient and cocking charges are lying with the department and in charge MDM and Heads of the schools are the worst sufferers as they are serving the MDM out of their pocket.

Recently CEO kupwara has issued a Menu for MDM vide circular 19254-19404 dated 06/10. In which teachers are directed to serve three vegetables/ Dhal and vegetables and chicken once a week, the said menu is not applicable in the amount ₹5 per student per day, District president Teachers forum kupwara Ab Qayoom Mir while reacting on the Menu said that on the one side the teachers are suffering a lot for want of their pending ingredient charges and on the other hand the teachers are put to task if they fail to keep the Menu issued by CEO kupwara in operation.

Such type of menu is served only in kupwara, so district kupwara should not become the testing laboratory.

Meanwhile District president Ab Qayoom Mir requested all the teachers that quality and hygienic MDM be served to the students within the alloted resources.

Ab Qayoom Mir requested Chairman Teachers forum J&K M Amin Khan, provincial president Showkat Ali Beigh to put their efforts for release of pending ingredient charges.
